Why do I want to write about make up/ beauty?

Why do I even like make up this much? (stretches arms out a much as I can)

Well some people might think "cause it's an improvement on what you have"

"cause you're a dog without it"

Well........I wouldn't entirely disagree with these statements.

But one thing I do love about using make up is the creativity and fun you can have with it. You can change the way you precieve yourself. No, I don't mean lie to yourself, but I believe it can give someone a little bit more confidence to go about their day to day duties. Some people might in fact use make up as a  mask. Something that they'd feel naked without. I think the most important thing about being comfortable wearing make up / cosmetics is to be able to be comfortable in your own skin.

My favourite look, using make up is when you wear the smallest amount so that you still look like yourself. A bright red lip although can look stunning and elegant (when done correctly and not the joker from batman look) we all know that no one naturally has bright red lips of that shade. We wear these products on our lips for some fun or to enhance the look of them. (If you got it, flaunt it!)
And no one, certainly no one, has flawless skin. We all get blemishes. We all need a little bit of concealer sometimes.

Is make up a thing that I must wear, -no.

But I enjoy wearing it. What's my favourite part about it? Well I love enhancing my eyes. If it's a little bit of mascara or a little bit of eye liner it can work wonders.

Make up doesn't change the person who you are. That's what people think it does. Why would you want to be anyone else than yourself? -there's no one more qualified to be you than yourself :)

"You were born an original.  Don't die a copy."

This quote I found online. I thought it summed what I was trying to say quite well :)

The most important thing is if you are using make up to hide from who you are, you are fooling only yourself.
If we didn't have the sense of sight we'd all see the true beauty that lies within.

Remember "make up" it says it all by it's self......think about it.....

Am I influenced by media and celebrities? To a certain degree. But one thing I've learned.....is to love the body in which I was born in to. Cliche? Yes.
I (as well as many women) have had hang ups about my body image. But no one will ever have the body I have, and no one will ever have my body. I will admit to watching certain shows like "extreme make over" and "the swan" and thought to myself if I had the money what would I get done?

Then I started to watch Gok Wan.........

I heart you.

Watching him help women celebrate who they are and what they look like is the ULTIMATE inspiration to any woman on the earth.

Make up is a hobby of mine...

....the best thing anyone can wear on their face is a smile.

Products of 2011 that I've been loving

Moroccan Oil

Image from www.instyle.com
I've mentioned this product in a previous post you can read it here
This hair product, I can not tell you how much I love this. Since I started dying my hair blonde (only about 2 years ago) I've noticed the dramatic change in my hair. The tangles. The dryness. The sure impossibility it was to brush my hair with out conditioner.

This "miracle" product helped me with the ends of my hair so they are not so brittle. It helps seal in moisture at the ends of the hair.

Although I love this product, recently when I went to my hairdresser (style club) I noticed that they were selling Moroccan Oil there. And of course I mentioned how much I love the product. I have it just about a year now and I'm only half way through the bottle! (Only one pump needed in my hair)
My hair dresser mentioned that some people have trouble using the product and complaining that the product leaves their hair greasy.

Hell - no! Clearly they are dumping the product on top of their head (right at the roots)
Note: If you intend on using Moroccan Oil or any other oil type hair product.........KEEP IT TO THE ENDS OF YOUR HAIR!! Then you shall fall in love with it darlings.

MAC's mineralise skin finish (natural)

Image from google images

I never thought I could really appreciate a product.
MAC's MSF changed this. It gives great coverage. Beautifully mattifies the face. (Although too much can be a bit cakey).

It's great if you get a shiny forehead (something similar to a disco-ball like myself!). The shades go from light to light / medium to medium to medium / plus to dark and dark plus.

Recently I went in to my local MAC in the airport. The usual shade I get is light / medium. This shade is quite popular in Ireland. Well maybe it's just whenever I go in to buy the product they always seems to be sold out in my shade! I wrote a post recently about MAC discontinuing my shade light / medium you can read it here.

You can also read about the feed back I received from MAC here.

I love this product so much so I even got two friends of mine hooked on to it (Yes Emma, you're one of them!) My favourite way of applying this product is with a kabuki brush, but be careful if you are applying with a kabuki as I noticed that sometimes I can get a little too carried away with it. Currently touching up with a duo fibre.

Urban Decay: Naked Palette

Urban Decay Naked palette
Image from the Urban Decay website

Why have I not mentioned this palette before? Well to be honest, there's been soo many people online in the beauty blogging community talking about it. I've tried to avoid bringing it up anytime I go to talk about make up in a post. But I do love this product for obvious reasons.....................because it's amazing. If you aren't big in to make up but would still like a good enough palette that would give you a fantastic look. It cost about €40 euro. The palette I have is the first one and it has a mixture of mattes and shimmers (mainly shimmers). I noticed that I tend to go through periods of just using my naked palette.

But hey it's that good you can get many looks from it.

Recently I travelled over to London and that was the palette I brought with me. I was doing my cousins make up for her 21st and I ended up doing a few of her friends make up as well. All 3 girls had completely different looks. You can achieve a great smokey eye with it, a bronze goddess with it and an enhanced natural beauty look. You can go for as natural as you like or as dramatic. It does for all occassions, especially weddings!

The shadows are highly pigmented abnd just beautiful.
Urban Decay are bringing out the Naked 2 palette out in Janurary in Debenhams.

Urban Decay: Primer Potion (tube)

Urban Decar orginial packaging
Image from google images
The urban decay primer potion for years was made in an unusual shape bottle. I refused to buy a full size one after I used my little sample of it (free with both my alice in wonderland palette and naked palette). The packaging simply annoyed me.
You couldn't possibly get all of the product out of the bottle. I'm sure if you google image primer potion you can see for yourself the amount of product left in the bottle after it's been cut open. (Sure it's a disgrace!)

There might even be a youtube video on it.

So instead of buying the primer potion I opted for Too Faced Shadow insurance. Although this did the job, I found that the product was a little more liquid like. I noticed that you'd have to give it a shake to use it.

Urban Decay Professional Size
Image from google images

Then Urban Decay brought out the tube....professional size. And only avaliable online or in America. Well that was not impressing me one bit. Maybe it was the vibes I was giving off.....or that of thousands of people willing for Urban Decay to put the product in to the tube that they copped on and did it!

Wahey!! Woop woop! Off to Urban Decay, pick up product, pay, go home, and play!!

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Image from google images
This product is great. I have very oily eye lids. And I never knew about primers (ah the days before I got in to make up with my very obivious crease line) -scarlet for my ma for having me ha!
So handy and I get to make sure I get every little bit of out the tube.

I've blogged about primers before you can read here

What beauty products have you been loving this year?

Christmas Shopping

Today is the 5th of December.

20 days left till Christmas day!

Am I excited?

Where am I going shopping for presents?

Well my first call of duty was Boots & Body Shop & Lush!

I get soo excited at the thoughts of Christmas shopping in those shops! Why? Because I get carried away! Friday the 25th of November I went in to The Body Shop on Henry Street and took full advantage of their 30% off

All thanks to reading a blog post by cornflakegirlsmusings I made sure I was near a Body Shop. If I wasn't going to go to town I would have to have made my way to Swords.

Lush is really good for pre-made up packages for Christmas. They are already wrapped (always in nice paper) and they show what's inside the present. (But I like to cut that off and keep it as a surprise for who ever receives it.)

But online alternative for shopping for cosmetics have also enticed me to look at some items online.

Why do I like these sites? Well number 1, they both accept laser card. Number 2, they have fabulous products.

Cloud10 sells:
  • Sigma brush sets
  • Sleek palettes
  • Handmade Soap Company
  • It even has a little Christmas tab in the top right hand corner
  • It has a tab "For Him" (left hand side)
Beauty Emporium sells:
  • Too faced
  • OPI
  • Sleek products (lashes, palettes, liners, lip sticks, pencils, glosses, lip tars)
  • Few Urban Decay products
  • EOS lip balm (egg shaped)
  • NYX
  • It also has a little Christmas tab
Millies sells:
  • Ardell lashes
  • Tweezerman
  • Yankee Candles
  • High-end Skin products
  • Has a "men" tab left hand side.
  • GHD's and GHD products (inculding hair dryer)
  • Macadamia Oil
  • OPI
Some products not avaliable in shops in Ireland. Don't you love buying something knowing that you can't just wonder into any aul shop and buy it?

Another website (non beauty related) I had a look at was http://hairybaby.com/ . I bought a few things from this website, slightly expensive? Yes. But to know that these organic clothing products are not being made in sweat shops is a good thing. The "Hairy Baby" company is located in Cork. It takes 7 working days to process. (I purchased products on the 28th of November so a week ago today.

I'm looking forward to getting my products (especially my "dia duit" tee for myself, a little bit of Christmas shopping for myself!
Image from the email I received from HairyBaby company

Have you made a Christmas wish list yet?

Well I've certainly been taking my time posting anything on this! Apologies!

I don't know about anyone else but my family members struggle to buy me something for Christmas....every year. So it has now become a tradition for me to make up a list of what I want for Christmas and post it on the notice board in the kitchen.

So here's what I'm thinking of posting on it.

Well as I mentioned before:
  • Babyliss Big Hair
  • Disney's Sleeping Beauty DVD
  • Disney's Tangled DVD
  • Disney's Fantasia DVD
  • Disney's Aristocats DVD
  • Disney's Little Mermaid DVD
  • Disney's Lady and the Tramp DVD
(Can you tell I like to collect Disney DVDs?)
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 DVD
  • Inbetweeners box set
  • Voucher from Inglot cosmetics
Now I don't expect to get all of these, in fact some would be only nice to receive!

Also there's a PB bag (yes, Paul's Boutique!) that I've been eyeing up on their website.
Paul's Boutique Sacha bag (£60)
Image from Paul's Boutique website
Like I've mentioned before I love black (PB) bags. They can go with ANY outfit.

I've been drooling over some in River Island, but they have been in all sorts of different colours. One in particular was:
River Island Green Satchel Bag (£35)
Image from River Island website
The only reason really is why I'd rather pick the black one is because I feel you would look a little bit more dressed wearing it that the green one. But I do like the green one as well. Thet also have the bad in a red colur, but if I HAD to pick one, it would be the green one.

Oh, decisions decisions!!

It's a rather hard aul life to pick what you want for Christmas. I've already mailed one of my brothers about getting a make up brush belt and a new cover for my blackberry.

And in turn he's let me know he wants the Soprano's DVD box set, (which is already purchased!).

Hope you are well!

What do you want for Christmas?

Reply from MAC about MSF

Well I heard back from MAC in regards to MSF

Here's the e-mail:

e-mail from MAC's customer care department
So it looks like they could be reformulating the product?

09 November 2011

Distraught at the thought of my favourite product being discontinued...

It has happened........

I fell in love with a product....

Now they are discontinuing my shade.

What is it you ask?

Well it's MAC's Mineralise Skin Finish in the shade light/medium.
I'm quite pale. Well not ginger pale. But pale. I thought the shade light was a tad too pale for me. Although I had medium before, I preferred to use the medium shade one for nights out and my light medium for the day time.

Do you know the way you use products because they simply just "do the job", but not only that put I genuinely really loved that product + shade combo.

I ended up purchasing the shade medium. It's not too dark but it's not my shade: light medium!

(insert a GOD-DAMMIT!!!)

The thought has come across my mind though.............maybe they renamed it to "light plus"
Is this possible?? I've mailed MAC throught their website and I await to hear from them.

Here's a link to the product on the MAC website .
Will update you when I hear more information!

MACs MSF light/medium is now light plus.
I bought one a while after I posted this.

Me and my lazy nails....

Hello again guys!

Thought I'd update ya on my nails..........they aren't really any different. I did 2 coats of the OPI nail envy stuff.

Maybe I should remove it  (yes some has chipped away), and do another 2 coats?
Maybe a top coat on top of the 2 coats?

The temptation to try another nail strengthener on my other hand is bugging me, and to test them out against each other. What dya think?

I know a photo would be quite useful to see how my nails look like, but sure maybe we'll just do a before and after post when I think I'm "done".

Must try to involve cuticle oil in to hand routine, (especially at night just before bed, I'm less likely going to wash it off in my sleep ha!)

hope you are all doing well ;)

03 November 2011

Mini Haulage (yes I said haulage!)

This a post that I saved to drafts and forgot to post...........better late than never I suppose!

A while ago just gone I went (semi) mad in MAC, Dublin Airport and ended up spending €70!! (with an extra 10% discount for staff at the time!)

The first thing that I wanted to get was MAC's mineralize skinfinish in the shade light medium. This is my must have powder. I absolutely LOVE this and is my number one essential product. However, as usual they were sold out of the shade. I have used medium, but maybe it's just me, but I like to use the medium in the morning and touch up with the light medium throughout the day. Also medium would be the one I'd use if I were to wear fake tan (which I hardly ever do...too lazy!).

So I skipped that and proceeded to look at the shade sticks from the "MAC me over collection"
I was interested in the shade Heirloom, but they were sold out of that one.
So I ended up getting Tundra and butternutty. Tundra is an icy silver colour which the MAC girl said would be really nice for a smokey eye. Butternutty is a neutral frosted colour, and could be worn with pretty much any colour I think.

Swatches, Tundra left and Butternutty right.

My eye took hold of a foundation. The new MAC Matchmaster foundation.

According to the maccosmetics website:

"A virtually "invisible" foundation with coverage influenced by your own skin tone. A breakthrough patented formula technology with a spectrum of 14 light to deep dark shades. Discover shade intelligence!"
"New Foundation technology using translucent pigments to enable a fully personalized finish influenced by the subtleties of your own skin's undertone. Moisturizing demi-matte finish. Medium buildable coverage. Line-reducing soft-focus powders."
I don't know about you guys, but this to me sounds good :)

I got the colour 1.5

MAC's Matchmaster in 1.5. The foundation has a slight yellow undertone

So far I've worn it once and a tad too dark, but with some tan it should be grand. So further usage of this will be needed to do a proper post about it if you want (let me know in the comments). So, keep an eye out ladies!!!

Then trying to think of pixiwoo's video of Nic's make up of "The Corpse Bride". I was trying to think of the lipstick that she wore in the video. I just thought it was lovely, so me with my terrible memory I couldn't think of the name so all I could tell the girl was, I know it's pink! So I got the shade Lustering It was the less louder and intense out of the two lip sticks which she showed me.

Lustering Lip stick from MAC
To match the lipstick, I bought 2 lip liners in similar shades to wear underneath to intensify the colour. One from the natural collection and one from rimmel. I've only used the natural collection with it so far and I think it's only garrrrrrjus!!

What do you think?

Zombie 2011

Hey guys,

just thought I'd share with you my picture of my make up I did last night for a friends house party (of course Halloween, so fancy dressed!!)

Did my Zombie look:

Me as Zombie :)
I ripped up some old clothes and smeared some fake blood on them.

Even coincidently got some in my hair!

27 October 2011

Mission: to get nice strong nails!

The history of my nails is not one that is exciting........like at all.

I find they break easily and they peel just as quickly as they break.
I've bought strengthing base coats for nails but I tend to only use them when I actually apply nail polish. I'm not one for touching up nail polish at the first sign of chipping, normally the polish just comes off. Infact I own alot of nail polishes but don't use them as much as I should.

Where I work the dress code is quite strict.  No over the top hair colour/styles. If one wishes to wear nail polish they are to wear red nail polish. Sure I only own one red polish and I've a thing for purple and teal polishes.

I rarely paint my toe nails, but that's because they aren't really ever on show. Coming in to winter also means that my feet shall remain within closed toe foot wear. Heels, boots, cons, runners etc.

But one thing I do want, is to make my nails stronger. Therefore out shall come the nail strengthener in the form of OPI's Nail Envy.

I'm going to be honest here. I have this stuff, used it a couple of times. But not enough to say whether or not if it's good. Normally use it as a base, but I think it's time I give it a proper go.

Hopefully I'll have good strong nails like my mum!

Do you ever get in to using the same products over and over again? I know I tend to get in to patterns of using the latest products that I start not using other products.

What reminds me of my forgotten products? Well reading a blog post of someones make up look, or if a friend is wearing it and I ask what she is wearing. Then guilt hits me. Now, I know it's not like it's my child that I've neglected. But it's money I've spent on decent products.

I realise that not all my money has gone on products that I love or that I'm happy to work with. We've all bought products that I'm quite disappointed with. But those products that I am happy to use but have been distracted by the latest thing but have fallen to the bottom of the make up bag and are merely swished from side to side while looking for other products.

One example of mine that comes to mind was a Barry M Dazzledust. After reading a blog post on beaut.ie click here for the link I came across the dazzledust number 44, which I do own, but I've failed use on any look within the past few. dare I say it.........months.

(I know bold Cel!!)

It's a lovely copper colour and very pigmented. I'm not a huge fan of pigments the only reason is that I'm quite clumsy as in yes I'm afraid of dropping it all over my clothes/ bed/ desk etc.

Now I consciously want to use this product, let it feel loved.

What products do you love but haven't used in a good while?

Halloween trial 2011

Well I'm sure you've guessed what this post is about. Sorry about the crap photo (taken on my phone)

Let me eat your brains!!
So what did I use?

School glue
Pritt Stick
Concealer (tried a couple, No7, bourjois healthy mix, MAC pro longwear)
Loo roll (toilet roll)
Estee Lauder Maximum coverage foundation (colour light)
Some brown eye shadows (mixture from a boots palette I received for Christmas one year)
MAC's black track gel liner
Black eye shadow (brand 17)
Black pigment (faces cosmetics)
Bronzer (inglot)
Some fake blood (got in the local EuroSpar)
Talcum powder (to set the foundation)

One thing I will say I've learned from this is that fake blood drips ALOT
So don't wear white guys....seriously (if for practise)

I also put a bit of dry shampoo in my hair and back combed it a little.

Have a good and safe Halloween guys

P.S: Note to self.........too much black around the eyes. Try a dark brown maybe instead......blend more

Location, location, location

As the days are getting colder and the struggle to get out of the warmth of my bed gets harder and harder the thoughts of getting up at ungodly hours (thanks shift work!) in the middle of the night, get ready for the day, wash my face, brush my teeth etc. it's becoming to feel impossible to complete this simple task.

Sure the cold is just cutting through ya!
I find myself returning to sit on my bed and having the duvet wrapped around my body as I do make up, (- is it just me that does this?)

Of course that's at the hours of either 4am or 6am. As the day goes on if I'm on a later shift that day I tend to do my make up sitting at my desk in my bedroom while using my No7 illuminated mirror. (Yes, old study desk converted to  desser)
I actually love this thing!!

My routine used to be on my bed facing my window so I could use the natural light, as the lighting in my room is absolutely rubbish!! But the No 7 mirror has changed it all, apart from those icy cold mornings :(

On one side there is a normal mirror, but on the other side (you just flip it over) there is a magnified (x5) mirror, great for tweezing! Currently retailing at €30 in Boots. (Half price from €60)
It gives out good light and I'm very happy with my purchase.

I know some people like to do their make up in the bath room, personally I'm too lazy to bring all my make up from one room to another.

My mum, now she likes to do make up in the kitchen, she places her mirror on the kitchen window to get the best amount of daylight. But again, doing make up in the kitchen is a little weird for me.

Where do you do your make up routine?

Some ideas for Halloween 2011

Everytime of year I'm always quite puzzled as to what to dress up as for Halloween.

The last few years I've dressed up as:

  • Marie Antoinette
  • Greek Goddess of Love
  • (The classic) Witch
This year I want to go a little bit more "out there".

Looking up for some inspirations online. I don't really want to be spending loads of money on costumes that I'm only going to be wearing once or twice (as I've done in the past )

One idea that has struck me is that one that could be of a drag queen.
Thinking of a bit of pritt stick to cover the brows and concealer and exaggerate make up. Big hair, the works.

But then again I'm thinking of a scary Zombie. Youtube tutorials have been most helpful with this. Using the likes of spirit gum and school PVC glue sounds fun, but I think I would like to do a trial go at it. Not only would it be kinda cool, but also cheaper as I would need  to wear/ dirty up and tear up some old clothes and have crazy-ass hair.

There are plenty of make-up looks on yotube. I've enough makeup I think to make me look scary.

Here's some images that could inspire me in my make up looks:

From the film "Shaun of the Dead"
What do you think you'll do for halloween?

Myself I don't like to dress as a "sexy bumble bee", why may you ask? Well quite simple, stripes aren't flattering on me!
^_^ hee

And I like to challenge myself!!

Wish me luck,

14 October 2011

Last night I went to my first aerobics class in the next towns community centre.

It's pretty tough given that I don't have an ounce of rhythm in my body! Stepping on the board out of sequence. Not listening to the instructor and just listening to the music (slightly singing along to!) wasn't helping either.

Roaring red cheeks and a jelly like legs was what got at the end of the class.

It was hard to get the routine down and as soon as I got the hang of it we were on to another movement to add to the complication. There's nothing more embarassing than having a woman in her 60's (yes 60's) doing waaaay better than me at the class.

It's not the first time a woman with at least 30 years senior was kicking my ass at a fitness class.
Boot camp hell that class was.

I try to get out walking the dogs at least but it's not really working up a sweat for me. I know I'm totally unfit so this is my attempt at getting some what fit. In work I'm currently sitting on my rear-end for up to 12 hours at a time! (and we all know it's only going to get bigger!)

I'm typing this as I'm munching on a cold slice of toast.....(do you see what's happening?)

Yes, I'm in agony, but it's good to get moving.
What do you do to try to keep fit?

10 October 2011

Too early to talk about christmas?

Is there a product out there that you are absolutely DYING to try out?

For me it's the Babyliss Big Hair.
Not only have I heard nothing but positive feed back from this product. And not only whenever I see Emma's fab hair after using it does my jealously remind me to infact pick one up myself. But is it something that I should wait till christmas to get? (well receive)

Every Christmas, in  my house, we struggle to think of things to buy. 2 christmases ago I ended up buying my own presents and having people give me the money.

Last year I made a "wish list" and people could pick and choose what they wanted to get me. I even inserted a picture or two. (Having brothers, and due to the fact them being males visuals are best, especially when you ask for the "naked palette" and the looks I got.... and trying to convince them it was a real thing!)

So according to website harveynorman.ie they are retailing this product at €59. Which in my opinon isn't bad. I've looked up enough video's online to see how to use this marvelous invention. It reminds me on that brush that used to be on the tv sale shows that just rotates but you had to use a hairdryer separate.

Anyways, this hair tool is like a must have!! Now, challenge to convince a member of my family to buy it for me. Christmas is now 10/11 weeks away?? Scary isn't it? Time to get thinking about what to buy others! Suppose Star Trek socks again and a shooting game for xBox!

I'll be printing a massive picture of the Babyliss Big Hair as a little hint closer to the time.

Calling all beauty buffs.......this is an sos!!!!

We are starting 12 hour shifts in an air conditioned, florescent light hell!!!

What i want to know from all you beautiful people is...................................

What you use to ensure your make up doesnt look like a 99 ice cream on a hot day????

08 October 2011

It's something that I'm sure some people wouldn't think of to be an important part of a beauty product.

One thing for me that I find slightly annoying (if I wasn't so clumsy) is the packaging of cotton bus (aka: Q-tips!)

The last few packets I've noticed that I constantly drop or knock the container over....resulting in cotton buds flying EVERYWHERE!!!!  The pack I currently have is from the local spar and I've only knocked it over on my desk (thank god) but it's like the simplest movement knocks it over. And I'm convinced that one time I didn't touch it, and that pure breeze knocked it. SWEAR!!!!!

So what alternative have I got?

Sandwich bags. (Or the ones you have to get to put your liquids in when going through the airport)

Once the bag is sealed, if you knock the bag over it won't open and disperse the contents everywhere.

sandwich bag win...... original container you lose

Handy Andy :)

I'm sure you notice I also have my cotton wool wipes in there as well. Well it's big enough for them as well, so why not?

A little bit of inspiration

To say I borrowed an idea or stole an idea is completely exggerated. I was just simply inspired by another blogger/youtuber. It was to do with make up storage. Siobhan from Letz Make Up it was a piece of furniture from Ikea.

The reason why I bought this piece of furniture was because my make up was simply taking over my desk in my bed room. There just was no room for me to do make up! So...
I went to Ikea on my day off (Monday) and amoungst buying unneccessary things like candles (vanilla fragrance) I bought drawer organisers for my drawers and then I found my chest of drawers retailing at €89!! (a bit expensive but worth it me thinks ;) hee)

On the above blog post there is a video and in it the "skinny" chest of drawers is featured. When I went to get it on my own in the self service area.....I couldn't lift the flat pack. :( I've hurt my back before so I wasn't willing to force myself in to attempting to lift the box and put it in the trolley. (And there was a sign for HEAVY, and it advised for 2 people to lift the boxm, 25kgs+)

So with the help of my dad I returned on Saturday!

Now the reason (that I must justify to myself) is that I need more drawer space for clothes. But the top two drawers to too slim to fit more than a t-shirt...s the top two slim drawers will hold eye products. I've split the products and they just about fit in to the dividers that I got (the same one as in Siobhan's video!)

Here's what the drawer organisers look like:

Here's what mine looks like:

Just fits!

First slim drawer
Second slim drawer

First deep drawer, palettes, foundations and hair products
The other two deep drawers is just for extra space for clothes :)

Primer is it essential?

So come on and tell the truth, do you wear a primer for every thing?

Eye lids?

Primers for face? I do own one (prep + prime from MAC) but I hardly ever use it. Recently I bought Rimmels PRO Primer, but to be honest I hardly noticed the difference in using it and not using it.

Lip Primer? I tend to use it once a day if I'm going to be wearing some coloured lippy. I use it at the start and and then touch up the colour of lipstick or gloss with a lipstick or gloss. The only one I own is  the MAC prep + prime one.

Lashes? Simple, I don't own one and I've never been tempted (so far) to buy one.

Eye lids?
It's weird to think that I never used primer for my lids, but that was wayyyyy  before I knew about primers and paint pots etc. I just thought my lids just couldn't take eye shadow.

Too faced shadow insurance, urban decay primer potion, big bounce shadows, paint pots, shade sticks and even concealer are items that I have used to help keep my eye shadow stay on all day/ night.

So for me, primers for the lids are essential as part of my make up routine. Without them I never would have gotten as much in to make up as I am right now.

And to think it all started with a little paint pot called Bare Study...
